Pharmacology of the drug

ASD fraction is one of the last promising veterinary agents used for poultry.

Produced by the Moscow developer NVC Agrovetzashchita LLC, the medication is by its nature an antiseptic with a stimulating effect, with the help of which metabolic processes are regulated. It has a fairly wide spectrum of action:

  • simulation of motor activity of the stomach and intestines,
  • improving the production of secretion by the digestive glands,
  • increased activity of enzymes of the digestive system and tissues,
  • improving the quality of protein synthesis,
  • an increase in the quality of the assimilation process of nutrients supplied to the bird's body.

In the course of exposure to active substances of ASD fraction 2, the work of the metabolic process is noticeably improved and the resistance of the avian organism increases.

When used externally, ASD-2 is able to act as an antiseptic and anti-inflammatory agent, leading to stimulation of the regeneration process of those tissue areas that are damaged.

The antiseptic-stimulant developed in 1943 by the veterinarian A. Dorogov is now used not only in the treatment of birds, but is also prescribed for human health.

The drug has three fractions, of which the ASD 2 fraction for chickens is used most often. Under the influence of elevated temperatures, information at the cell level is destroyed, as a result of which it is decomposed into low molecular weight components that have a beneficial effect as a biogenic stimulant.

Components and packaging

Among the main components of the drug, widely used for chicken broilers, ASD-2 includes:

  • aliphatic and cyclic hydrocarbons of origin,
  • lower level carboxylic acids and their choline esters,
  • compounds of ammonium salts,
  • choline
  • secondary amine constituents and peptides.

The medicine is subject both for oral administration and when applied externally and is a solution with a pungent odor, yellow or brown, based on water. The instruction for ASD-2 allows for the possible occurrence of a gray or black precipitate not exceeding 20 milligrams per milliliter of solution.

The manufacturer manufactures its products in glass:

  • bottles with a rubber stopper and an aluminum cap of 50 or 100 ml,
  • polymer containers with a volume of 20, 40 to 500 ml.

Packaging in large volumes in plastic cans of 1-3-5 liters is possible. At the same time, ASD-2 packaged in polymer containers and cans, according to the instructions, is subject to exclusively oral use. Each small volume bottle is packed individually in a cardboard box.

Indications for use

The second fraction of ASD is prescribed to be given to chickens and chickens both for therapeutic and prophylactic purposes, in the following cases:

  • gastric and intestinal disorders,
  • respiratory system diseases,
  • violation of genitourinary function,
  • violation of the skin,
  • in order to stimulate the functioning of the nervous system,
  • to develop the body resistance of birds that have undergone infectious and invasive diseases,
  • when stimulating the growth rate of broilers,
  • at increased egg production in chickens,
  • to normalize the exchanges of processes.

Oral course

ASD-2 is prescribed to hens and chickens together with drinking water immediately before feeding or as an additive to feed mixtures with morning meals. At the same time, for the treatment of digestive disorders in the form of gastroenteritis and gastroenterocolitis, dystrophy and in case of a disturbed metabolic process, the drug is prescribed once, and the treatment continues for at least 5-7 days with an interval between courses of 2-3 days until the bird is fully recovered.

Outdoor course

For external use, the drug is prepared in the form of solutions with a concentration of 2 to 20% based on sterile saline solutions or ordinary boiled drinking water. At the same time, in order to independently manufacture the drug of the required concentration, the initial ASD-2 for chickens is taken 100%.

Dosage for broiler chickens and chickens

The dosage of the ASD preparation for chickens and chickens depends on its purpose.

For chickens

In order to increase the immunity of young animals and the development of the body of pets, for a week they are soldered with ASD-2, 35 ml of solution diluted in 100 liters of water.

As a prophylaxis against intestinal diseases and dysfunction of the stomach, 3 ml of the drug is used per 100 bird heads, given with water for a week.

In case of identified colds and infectious diseases, chickens are given 10 ml per 1000 bird heads together with water for 5 days in a row.

Kuram

In order to increase egg production, ASD-2 layers are used for at least 5-7 days, 35 ml each, which must be diluted in 100 liters of drinking water.

The dosage for the prevention and treatment of respiratory diseases, as well as gastrointestinal disorders for chickens is similar to that used for chickens: 3 ml of ASD-2 per 100 chicken heads fed with feed or drinking water.

Sometimes the drug must be used during the plumage change in chickens in order to support their weakened body. In such cases, ASD-2 is sufficient at the rate of 5 ml per cubic meter of air mass, which is taken at a concentration of 10% and distributed in the poultry house aerosol.

Limitations

Eggs from chickens who took the ASD-2 medication are used for human consumption and are sold without any restrictions. Likewise, the meat of chickens, which was drunk with this medicine, is freely used for consumer purposes during forced or planned slaughter.

When using ASD-2 for chickens and chickens, there were no cases of overdose and adverse side effects from exposure to its active components. Complications in poultry after treatment with an antiseptic-stimulant are not observed.
