  3. The seeds are placed with the tip down.
  4. When shoots appear in the ground, the film must be removed, and the plant must be taken outside once a day for a few minutes (15–20 min.).
  5. If the culture grows in a greenhouse, it is ventilated every 2 days. In this case, drafts and hypothermia must be avoided.
  6. When the leaves begin to appear, the plant can be planted outside in open ground.

If you follow all the rules for planting and growing, sweet fruits will appear closer to September.

Preparation for planting in open ground

Planting pumpkins in a sunny place

It is necessary to plant pumpkins in a sunny place.

Landing in open ground also requires adherence to special rules:

  • you need to plant in a calm and sunny place.
  • the beds are dug and prepared in early autumn, and they also need to be fertilized with humus.
  • before sowing, the seeds are soaked in warm water and wrapped in wet gauze for 24 hours.
  • Seeds are planted with the "spout" downwards, it is impossible to press into the ground.

Pretreatment also includes seed disinfection - after the material has stood in a warm, damp cloth for 24 hours, you need to lower the seeds in a manganese solution for 2-3 hours.

Prepare the solution as follows: for 250 g of liquid, you need to add several crystals of manganese.

Pumpkin care

Watering

Once a week, you need to water the pumpkin under the root with warm water. In doing so, it is important to ensure that the soil does not erode. The main thing is not to overdo it.

Fertilizer

According to the description of the variety, Kroshka loves feeding: they fertilize the pumpkin with a natural mixture, which includes water (10-12 liters), mullein - 200 g and manure 200 g.

Top dressing is used during the period of active growth. If young leaves begin to curl, they can be fed with potassium.

Harvesting and storage

To understand that the vegetable is finally ripe, you need to try the crust: if it is firm and does not bend, then the crop can be harvested.

It is important not to snag the peel when picking. The fruits are cut with a footboard, this must be done as carefully as possible. If the fruit has scratches or dents, then they are sent for processing. Such fruits spoil quickly.

You need to store the fruits in a dry place. For the first weeks, the temperature in the room should be warm, the fruit is placed there for 2 weeks so that the crust finally hardens and the tail dries out.

The vegetable loses 20% of its weight when stored in a warm room. After 14 days, it must be transferred to a cool room.

The temperature should be between 3 and 8 ° C and the humidity between 60 and 70%.

It is better to keep the fruits in racks, they should be covered with straw. And the fruits lie sideways down.
