Characteristics of the Mamluk f1 cucumber variety
As a result of crossing several varieties, the Mamlyuk cucumber variety was bred. In a short time, the hybrid has gained popularity among both amateurs and professionals.
The variety is resistant to adverse conditions, undemanding to care, suitable for industrial cultivation.
Characteristics of the variety
Mamluk f1 is an early variety, it begins to bear fruit in 45-50 days from the moment of sowing the seeds, suitable for double crop rotation. Cucumbers of this variety can be sown for the first time in the spring, and the second time in the summer. Harvest twice in one season. The fruiting period is about 2 months.
Mamluk cucumber is a self-pollinating variety, and therefore is suitable for growing in open ground and in different types of greenhouses. They can be used for growing at home.
Description of the bush
The bush is medium-sized, with well-developed climbing stems, moderately branched. The length of the main whip is up to 2 m, the lateral shoots reach a length of up to 1 m, the antennae are well developed, easily attached to the support. Large leaves have a heart shape, bright green color, and a rough surface. The stalks are strong and short, the flowers are medium in size, typical for cucumbers. The female-type bloom predominates, 2-3 ovaries are formed at the nodes.
Description of the fetus
Variety Mamluk F1 has a beautiful even fruit 10-12 cm long, gherkin type. The length-to-width ratio of the fruit is 3.5: 1. Zelentsy have a presentable presentation.
Characteristics of the fetus:
- dense coarse skin;
- the color of the peel is deep green with white stripes;
- the tuberosity is clear, well traced;
- thorns are white, of medium length;
- the pulp is light, homogeneous, crunchy;
- the seeds are small, located in shallow seed chambers.
The yield of Mamluk cucumber is high, 11-14 kg per 1 sq. m. Fruits have a good taste, fresh cucumber aroma. A versatile variety, suitable for supplying the market with fresh produce, well transportable and retains its shape and juiciness during short-term storage.
Care
Proper care of Mamluk cucumbers comes down to a simple growing technology, which involves regular watering and feeding. The variety is undemanding to soil and resistant to temperature fluctuations.
Watering
All vegetables of the pumpkin family are moisture-loving, require regular moderate watering, especially during the period when the air temperature rises and at the time of fruit setting and growth.
Cucumbers are watered with well-settled water with a temperature not lower than ground temperature. It is imperative to defend the chlorine-saturated tap water. Chlorine has a detrimental effect on the growth of cucumbers. Water from a well or well does not require settling, but it must be warm: cold water slows down the process of nutrient intake by bushes and can provoke root rot and other fungal diseases. Plants are watered at least 3 times a week; during cold weather, watering is reduced.
Top dressing
It is important to follow the cucumber feeding regime. It is enough to fertilize them 4 times per season:
- During the period of active growth before flowering.
- When the bushes bloom intensively.
- At the beginning of mass fruiting.
- During fruit ripening to continue fruiting.
You can use mineral and organic fertilizers.
To obtain organic products, the first feeding is carried out with chicken droppings. 200 g of droppings are poured into 10 liters of water and insisted for 48 hours. Before use, 1 glass of slurry is diluted in a bucket of clean water and the cucumbers are poured over the moistened ground under the bush with the resulting mixture, avoiding contact with leaves and stems.
For the second and third feeding, herbal tea is prepared. 1 kg of grass (weeds, medicinal herbs) is poured into 10 liters of water and left to ferment for several days. Before use, dilute in a proportion of 1 liter of infusion to 10 liters of water, water the bushes.
The fourth feeding is carried out using ash. It is brought under the bush, embedded in the ground and watered well. Or dissolve 1 tbsp. ash in a bucket of water, after which the cucumbers are watered or sprayed with the resulting solution.
Pests and diseases
According to the description, Mamluk cucumber is resistant to disease, especially cladosporium and parasporosis.
Cucumbers are prone to defeat:
- fusarium;
- anthracosis;
- powdery mildew;
- root rot.
To enhance immune processes, the bushes are preventively treated with Phytodoctor or Trichodermin. These biological products are environmentally friendly and safe, they show themselves well in the prevention of diseases of vegetable crops.
To ensure the protection of plants from pests, folk remedies are used that can scare off harmful insects. Among them, infusions on onion peels, garlic and bitter herbs with a strong smell (wormwood, St. John's wort, thyme) are especially popular.
Gaupsin has proven itself well for pest control. This drug has, in addition to insecticidal action, and fungicidal properties. If cucumbers are sprayed every 2 weeks with Gaupsin, they will be protected.
Conclusion
Cucumber Mamluk f1 is a high-quality, easy-to-care variety. High yield and long fruiting period allows it to be used both in industrial cultivation and in farms.
