A bit of history

About 5,000 years ago, horse breeders in Turkmenistan bred Akhal-Teke horses. They were not crossed with other representatives of the breeds in order to maintain a purebred. As a result, white foals were born. This type of horse was very different from other animal species: they were taller, more graceful and without visible fat deposits.

Over the years, the Isabella Horse has not changed its appearance and still looks the same graceful.

origin of name

The legend of this reached us from the distant 17th century, when Queen Isabella vowed that until King Albrecht won the victory in the port of Ostend, located in Belgium, she would not take off her undershirt. Since the siege lasted for a long time (according to some sources, 3 years), the shirt made of snow-white fabrics of the queen, who kept her word, lost its pristine purity and acquired a yellow tint.

This time coincided with the fact that horses with a cream color began to come into fashion, which was nicknamed "the queen's shirt" or isabella.

Features of the

Isabella suit is the most beautiful and unusual. The skin of pets has a creamy shade, the body with the mane and tail is the same color, without any pigments. A pale, slightly pink tint is hardly noticeable in places where the hairline is thinner. Horses can easily endure both hot weather and cold. The coat shines in the sun and shimmers with silver. As the individual grows up, its coat darkens slightly, but the gloss is not lost.

The main colors are:

  • cream;
  • golden;
  • pale pinkish;
  • yellowish.

Photographers love to work with this suit. The horse is very photogenic, its fur is reflected by the shimmering of the camera flashes. The Isabella horse also has the ability to change shades of colors depending on the time of day (from milky skin in the morning to reddish at sunset). In daylight, the main view is a horse with a silver tint.

Isabella horse has blue or greenish eyes; species with dark or brown eyes are rare.

Foals are born with a pinkish skin tone, which becomes creamy with age.

Breeds

Isabella color is typical for breeds in which light colors prevail. But without certain factors, blood purity cannot be achieved. There must be an indispensable condition: the combination of genes that are absolutely identical (parents are genetically red, such as bulan, golden, elephant horses).If the above conditions are met, then the likelihood of getting a horse completely devoid of black, but retaining its cream color, increases.

This color is typical for breeds such as Kinski, the aforementioned Akhal-Teke horses, as well as the Spanish Golden and American Cream horses.

The kit contains all the information you need, from the stables diagrams to the diet of the animal. It is also obligatory to have veterinary extracts, including observations of the breeding individual.

Human connection

The horses are obedient, well trained, they hold the riders well in the saddle. The owner easily establishes contact with the Isabella horse. The pet is a great friend.

Horses of the Isabella suit are distinguished by a noble disposition. These individuals are very careful, they will never overcome obstacles that they assess as dangerous, so it is impossible to curb their temper and make it possible to participate in serious competitions. But this situation only proves the value of these horses more.
