Honey with lemon

For the treatment with lemon and honey, you should take 250 g of honey. It is heated in a hot, but not boiling, water bath. Freshly squeezed lemon juice is added - 3 tbsp. l., gently mix. 80-100 ml of warm water is added to the mixture. The medicine is kept in a water bath for another 5 minutes.

The solution is removed, cooled. Take the composition in the amount of 1-2 tbsp. l. 2 times a day for 5 days.

The whole fruit with the skin is also used. Cut the citrus together with the crust, bones into thin slices. Dip the sliced ​​fruit into a 300 ml cup with honey. The medicine is heated in a water bath for 10 minutes. Stir often so as not to overheat. Pieces of fruit are rubbed with a spoon while stirring.

The mixture is filtered to remove solid citrus residues. The medicine is recommended to be stored in the refrigerator. Honey with lemon for coughs is taken as needed in 1-2 tablespoons.

Honey and lemon for coughs are not given to a child under 1 year old due to the likelihood of developing infant botulism. The disease provokes the ingress of bacterial toxins from honey into the gastrointestinal tract of children.

Garlic

Licorice

Plant essential oil (3-5 drops) or 1 tsp. the dried root is mixed with a lemon-honey mixture. The solution is heated in a water bath for 12-15 minutes, ⅓ glass of warm water is added. Stirred for another 4-5 minutes. Then the medicine is cooled. Consume 1-2 tablespoons inside. a course of 5-7 days for the treatment of spasms of wet and dry origin.

Glycerin with lemon

Honey is replaced with glycerin in case of allergies to a bee product or in its absence. Glycerin treatment is safe to take by mouth.

In its pure form, the plant product is colorless, sweet in taste. It is used for the preparation of food products, personal care products, and cosmetics. The unique property of glycerin is the ability to absorb moisture, therefore it is used to reduce spasms in the throat and bronchi. The use of natural glycerin is effective. Synthetic glycerin is not used to treat coughs.

People prone to diarrhea are advised to take mixtures based on it with caution. The amount of the product is reduced, replaced with honey, or the treatment is completely canceled. Those with diabetes mellitus and those with elevated blood lipids are advised to take the product with the minimum possible courses. Long-term use can increase glucose and lipid levels.

Prescription for a medicine with lemon and glycerin:

  • mix ½ cup of glycerin with ½ cup of warm water;
  • the mixture is tormented in a water bath over low heat;
  • add 3 tbsp. l. freshly squeezed citrus juice;
  • pour in ⅓ glass of warm water;

To improve the taste, a banana or apple is added to the composition. Take a remedy from glycerin and lemon for cough 1-2 tbsp. l. 1 p. the day until the symptoms disappear. In case of acute spasm, increase the dosage up to 2-3 times a day.

Contraindications and side effects

Do not use lemon-based medicines:

  • patients with acute gastritis with high acidity;
  • with chronic ulcerative diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, exacerbations of heartburn;
  • patients with citrus allergies;
  • patients with pathologies of the pancreas, inflammation of the kidneys.

If, when using lemon-based folk remedies, there is a burning sensation in the stomach or intestinal pain, the treatment is stopped and a doctor is consulted.

Due to the high amount of acids, allergenicity, citrus is not recommended for young children who are breastfeeding.

A sign of an allergic reaction with an overdose of citrus is the appearance of a small rash on the bends of the arms, legs, abdomen, sometimes cheeks, hips. The use of the fruit is stopped, they turn to an allergist.

Excessive consumption of citrus leads to increased blood pressure. Hypertensive patients are advised to strictly follow the dosage of products with fruit. Citric acids have a negative effect on tooth enamel, especially in children. After consuming citrus or medicine based on it, rinse the mouth thoroughly.
