About the Lomanov breed
chicken representatives Loman White white became known due to their leading positions in terms of egg production. Of particular value is the ability of chickens to lay even in the cold season.
Lomanov hybrids are represented by two main breed branches: brown hens and white, while Loman White is not an independent line, but a cross from brown Lohman Brown classic.
Chickens Loman White are from Germany, and they got their name from a German company that bred new birds as a result of breeding work in the 70s of the last century.
German chickens have fallen in love with poultry farmers in many countries, not only because of their high productivity rates; therefore, many farmers are engaged in their breeding. In the process of keeping, they have established themselves as birds with a calm, balanced character, not prone to aggressive behavior, getting along with other breeds of agricultural individuals.
It should be noted that representatives of this class are quite curious and often noisy, but the presence of other positive characteristics in them makes it possible not to notice their noisiness. The placement of at least 1 rooster for 15-20 females allows to moderate the noisy disposition of hens.
Exterior standard
The Loman White breed of chickens fits favorably into a private economy, thanks to its pleasant appearance, the description and photo of which includes some of the distinctive features inherent in the standard:
- the egg direction of the breed line influenced the formation of the constitution of birds, the physique of which is compact and resembles a trapezoid, but with a narrow and unexpressed chest and belly, which is more typical for meat representatives,
- a small head with a bright crest and lobes, which contrast most noticeably against the background of white plumage,
- some layers stand out with combs piled to one side, which is not a disqualifying sign; in males, a comb is large in size, ending in deep teeth.
Due to their small size and long legs, white chickens look quite athletic.
The snow-white plumage of Loman White chickens can be estimated from the photo.
Economic benefit from breeding
Poultry farms in Russia and Europe give birth to Loman White chickens because of their high productivity:
- layers of this cross produce a record number (from 330 to 340) eggs per year,
- the chicken begins to lay an egg when it reaches four months of age, with rare exceptions a little later,
- an egg from Lomanovski layers is large (60-65 g each), with a white shell.
Due to the fact that the representatives of the Loman White breed were bred more as an egg direction of use, their meat characteristics are lower than that of other chicken breeds:
- the weight of the rooster usually does not exceed 2.0 kg,
- the average weight of a chicken is up to 1.5 kg.
