The uniqueness of the Takla breed

Takla pigeons are real Turkish pigeons, they first appeared on the territory of Turkey. The birds have become famous in this area due to their good flight characteristics. If we consider the description of their merits, then first of all it is worth noting the ability of pigeons to do all kinds of pirouettes at the moment when they are in flight.

The first representatives of these pigeons appeared where the Turks used to live. Now the bird can be seen not only in Turkey: these representatives are widely settled in the Stavropol and Krasnodar Territories. In the Mediterranean regions, this breed appeared in the 10th century, when the Turks migrated to this territory.

If we consider the very name of pigeons - Takly - then from Turkish it means "somersault", thereby indicating the unique advantages of such birds. If you look at the representatives of this species at the moment when they fly, then we can say with confidence: they somersault in the air.

Slaughter pigeons were originally bred by the Turkish sultans, so that they would later take part in special bird fights. On the territory of Europe, these birds appeared around 1071. Nowadays there are several different types of Takla.

Bird appearance

The Takla pigeon breed has its own characteristics related to its appearance, therefore each representative of Takla belongs to a specific subspecies, among which there are:

  • real forelock suit;
  • representatives of nose-toothed breeds;
  • two-legged pigeons;
  • turkish tackle mustache.

Each individual of this breed has a neat, completely not massive body, which is unacceptable for a large number of other species of pigeons. Many Turkish fighting pigeons have a brightly shaped head and a white tail. All fighting breeds have a small decoration in the form of a forelock on their heads. In some birds, only one legs can be covered with feathers. Sometimes there are noticeable eyebrows on their heads.

If we consider the process of breeding pigeons from Turkey itself, then their appearance has changed significantly over the years. Today the most elite breed looks like a milky white bird. It is this color that is most often preferred in the breeding process. It should be noted that such a feathered companion can cost from $ 100 to $ 500 per representative. In this case, the cost will depend on the age and training of the individual bird.

The uniqueness of the flight

Such birds are often called "fighting birds", due to the fact that during the flight, they often seem to play with their own wings.At the same time, it is worth paying attention to the fact that they can fly for 10 hours without a break. Sometimes it happens that when this breed is too carried away by its own flight, it completely loses its orientation and falls down from a great height. As a result, pigeons are injured, even die.

Close attention should be paid to the color: he speaks about the flying capabilities of this bird. Today the variegated winged ones have already lost their unique abilities, therefore they are not in great demand. Most of those who breed these birds prefer lighter and more restrained colors, as they are real aerial acrobats.

During the fight, only these birds are able to return to their starting position several times in a row. In this case, the duration of battles can be from 2 to 5 hours in a row. Only this species is able to rise into the air with a fight to a height of about 20 m.It is worth noting that a bird's acrobatic abilities are manifested only when it is specially trained. If you do nothing, then there will be little sense from it.

Conditions of detention

The maintenance of these birds will be quite difficult, since it is these fighting breeds that belong to the most whimsical birds in terms of care and breeding. In order for their cultivation to be correct, you need to show a lot of patience and time so that everything goes well.

If you have never dealt with this breed, then many experienced professionals recommend giving preference to the purchase of already slightly grown and trained birds. Naturally, their cost will be several times higher than that typical for younger representatives.

When breeding, first of all, it is important to make sure that an individual room is allocated for the birds, in which absolutely no other species will live in parallel. To breed them, first of all, you must adhere to the following very important conditions:

  • the room must be equipped with good ventilation;
  • the height of the cage should be more than 1.5 m so that the pigeon inside is comfortable;
  • several times a month it is advisable to carry out high-quality disinfection inside the poultry house;
  • if you want to get a real fighting Takla training, you need to do it every day.

If the breed is crossed with completely different representatives, all its unique flying abilities will simply be lost, so you should buy an already trained pigeon or train it so that Takly's beautiful fighting pigeons of Turkey begin to delight.
