Description of the species
Pigeons Kirovograd lilac or, as they are sometimes called, Kirovograd roundless pigeons, are distinguished by their small body sizes. Their total body length is 30 cm. If the pigeon is larger, it means that it is not a purebred representative of this species. Even small changes in genetics can lead to the fact that the manner of flight changes. If the total length of the bird's body is at least 1 centimeter greater, the structure of the body changes, it becomes less dense. But birds, which, on the contrary, lack a couple of centimeters up to 30, have a more dry structure. Only if there is a straight posture, low legs and a special arrangement of the wings, it can be argued that Kirovograd pigeons are in front of you.
The wing of a pigeon is very tightly attached to the body, which is why the wings end a few millimeters earlier than the tail, while in other species of pigeons, the wings usually end further. It is difficult to see the tail of Kirovograd pigeons, it itself is small and not lush. The tail is always visible when hovering, the bird opens it during flight to coordinate the course.
The general structure of the body is proportional. There are times when you can observe birds whose body is slightly larger than the head. This happens, but rarely. Veterinarians and specialists do not consider this body structure as a deviation from normal parameters. A similar deformation is observed in male birds.

- black mixed with rusty specks;
- lilac color (lilac pigeons).
In the photo on the Internet, you can most often find lilac-sided and black-colored birds. This is not a complete list of shades that are present in the family of this breed, there are also others, but they are very rare. There are cases when two parents with red colors are crossed with each other, as a result of which their children, young Kirovograd pigeons, have unusual red-fiery plumage. But, unfortunately, often during the molting period, they change their color to white.
The lilac Kirovograd motley pigeons have a lilac color along the body, behind the wings, when soaring, you can see how this color shimmers and resembles acrylic paint or a sparkling diamond. Oddly enough, but the beak of birds of this color is slightly smaller than that of others, and there is a dimple on the chest. Experts cannot explain this in any way, they only suspect that, perhaps, the color somehow affects the structure of the body. Maybe the lilac color carries some other genetics. Experts believe that purely bred breeds have only red color or red rusty spots, although they themselves say that it is not always possible to judge the purity of genes by color.

One of the factors that can indicate good health and genetics of a pet is that it will keep its tail straight when flying. But if the feathered tail somehow strangely bends, it means that he will not be able to fly for a long time. This is considered a negative side, because this species should soar in the sky. There is also a possibility that the future offspring will not have good flying performance and then the bird will not be able to take part in the competition. The flying qualities of this species are its main advantage.
Interestingly, there is no “average” breed of this species. Almost every year they experiment with crossing this species with others, while obtaining new colors and improving characteristics. But there is a minus: with an improvement in general characteristics, the flight indicator often drops, birds are circleless. If the flying qualities of this species are important, it is best to acquire a pure breed.
