Training for fighting pigeons is a must in your daily routine.

Where did such an interesting name for birds come from? No, they do not participate in battles, fighting is a special sound that birds make during flight. They beat with their wings, due to which noise is heard.

All birds of fighting breeds are high-flying and playable: they are able to rise to a height of 20-25 m.

Differences between fighting pigeons and gray pigeons

Fighting pigeons do somersaults in the air during flight, accompanying this movement with the clicks of their wings in the air. Ordinary gray winged ones cannot boast of such skills. Fighting individuals are already formed and ready to fly by the third month of development, but they reach their peak form only in the third year of life. Among poultry farmers, it is believed that an adult is more valuable than a young and inexperienced one.

In Russia, many people know such species of birds as Chebarkul, Stavropol, Volzhsky Krasnogrudy, Kazansky Shrieks, Voronezh Beetles, Yeisk, Rostov, Dvukhubye. Agasiev specimens are popular in Ukraine.

Today, birds are bred all over the world, in Russia there are many breeding zones in Rostov, Donetsk, in the Kuban in the Stavropol Territory, where many varieties of fighting breeds are successfully bred.

The most popular are the following types:

  • Persian;
  • Southern;
  • Leninakan;
  • Turkish;
  • Leushkovskys;
  • Asian.

These are the best representatives of pigeons, they will be discussed later.

Types of fighting pigeons

Persian (Iranian)

The most popular and widespread type is Persian. Its second name is Tehran.

Persian is also called Molonos due to its short beak, which stands out in the photo. Short-billed in Russia are held in high esteem. They are appreciated by bird lovers and connoisseurs of the world. Such an individual has a graceful structure and is distinguished by external beauty. The color is diverse, standing out from a bird's eye view, so this breed is often compared to a hawk. The short-billed Persian flying pigeons will decorate any collection and will take part in exhibitions.

Iranian species - Hollow, Tickled. Their appearance as a whole does not differ from other species. The only feature is the plumage on the legs and the pattern on the head and cheeks, which is why individuals are sometimes called tadpoles. They are slow and calm in the air. Iranian pigeons do not do without going into the pole. The fight of these birds is unusual and easily recognizable, it is fixed for several seconds, and you can hear the sound at any height. The flight takes quite a long time, sometimes about 10 hours.

Southern pigeons

The North Caucasian species is widespread in the Krasnodar Territory. Krasnodar fighting pigeons, or North Caucasian Molokans, amaze with the brightness of their colors. Caucasians have an incredible variety of species: white-toothed, colored, white-bearded, white-headed kosmachi. Krasnodar, or North Caucasian fighting pigeons, can have a different crest or beak length, as well as a different degree of plumage of the legs.

Black-tailed, red-tailed and yellow-tailed forelock fighting varieties also belong to Caucasian pigeons. Yellow and black combine the qualities of decorative and flying individuals. Black and marble look beautiful in flight, especially if they are wide-tailed individuals. Black Caucasian, or fighting pigeons of Chile, are popular both in their homeland and in Russia. Chile is also called Baku.

In Armavir in the 17th century, the Armavir white-headed cosmachi were first bred and later described. Just at this time, winged ones with plumage of various colors appeared on the territory of Stavropol. Such birds were used for breeding, and the result was the Armavir White-headed. There are 4 subspecies of this breed, which are characterized by a slender figure, the finest beak and beautiful plumage, which shimmers and shines in the sun.

Leninakan pigeons

The Leninakan bird species is especially appreciated by professionals and breeders from Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Russia. Leninakan pigeons are miniature individuals. Even when the birds are at a decent distance from the ground, a characteristic sound of wings clicking is heard during flight. This variety is considered freedom-loving, and therefore should not be kept in a cage.

When transporting birds over long distances, they should be taught in advance to be in a cage.

Turkish pigeons

In Turkey, the most popular breed is the Takla. She is so hardy that she can survive even in the harshest conditions. It is difficult to see and capture such individuals in the photo precisely because they live in remote corners of Turkey.

The flight of the winged is long enough. Because of this, Takla herself loses coordination and abruptly flies down. Often she is so carried away by somersaults in the air that she loses her balance. Fighting pillars are valued for the play of wings in the air - the same famous "fight".

Asiatic pigeons

Central Asian representatives are popular in Russia because they have a shortened beak and shiny plumage. Central Asia occupies a leading position in the breeding of fighting breeds. The Asian breed is based on the Uzbek variety of pigeons. Central Asian short-billed pigeons come from Turkmenistan, which is famous for Aharans and Asans. Uzbek Gulbadams, or Snow-White Tsars, are also always held in high esteem.

Tashkent, Afghan, Armenian and Andijan are appreciated by amateurs all over the world. Many breeders want to get such breeds of Asian pigeons in their collection, because it was the Tashkent individuals that laid the foundation for many species of birds.

The Bukhara pigeons, bred in Central Asia and later brought to Russia, are very beautiful. Flying short-billed birds fascinate with their flight.

Leushkovskie fighting pigeons

Leushkovskaya fighting pigeons have unusual plumage, for which they are popularly called "birds with boots". Leushkovskie individuals are popular with breeders.

Features of the content

Winged birds need constant training to feel confident in the air, so experienced breeders are mainly engaged in breeding and raising birds. It is worth stocking up on patience and a lot of strength and nerves. For training, it is recommended to choose individuals with an inconspicuous color, since they have more stable indicators and high-quality data. Video can be recorded during training to be able to compare the results.

Summarizing

Keeping a pigeon on the farm is not within the power of everyone, because its acquisition is associated with taking responsibility.It is necessary to conduct constant training with a bird, otherwise it will lose its skills and will not differ in any way from an ordinary gray-gray relative. Competitions are won only by trained individuals.
