Description of the variety

The botanical name of the variety is gydrangea arborescens Incrediball.

A sturdy shrub with a high decorative effect. It has a lush crown, in adult plants it reaches 3-3.5 m in diameter. Flowering begins in June and lasts until frost.

Shoots are erect, lignified, strong, do not break off and do not droop under the weight of large inflorescences.

The flowers are small, gathered in spherical, dense buds that develop on the tops of the stems of the current year, the circumference is 15-20 cm. At the beginning of blooming, the flowers are light green, later they acquire a snow-white color.

Landing features

The tree hydrangea Inkredibol is planted in spring. Usually this procedure is carried out in the middle or at the end of April, when the last frosts have passed, the soil warms up to a temperature of 8-10 ° C.

When grown in warm and temperate climates, the shrub can be planted in early autumn - until the first half of September. Two months is enough for it to take root and take root before the onset of frost.

Seat selection

This perennial crop can grow in both sun and light shade. Do not plant under the walls of a house, farm buildings, tall trees with a spreading crown. In such a place, the shrub stretches out, the leaves develop pale, and the inflorescences are small.

The soil is suitable light with good drainage and enriched with nutrients. Select a site with groundwater occurrence at a depth of 2 m.

On loams, before planting, you need to add a couple of buckets of sand, perlite or vermiculite. On sandy loam soil, add 20 kg / m² of clay.

Preparation of seedlings

It is possible to grow hydrangea Inkredibol from cuttings, layering. But if you want to get a shrub with all varietal characteristics, give preference to a purchased seedling. You can buy it in one of the gardening nurseries.

Buy a grown bush with several densely leafy twigs. Such a hydrangea has a developed root system, so it will transfer well the transplant to the site.

When choosing, inspect the shoots - they should be flexible, without cracks, cracks, growths and mold. The leaves and buds of a healthy plant are juicy, green, do not contain stains of an unnatural tone and dry fragments.

Better to give preference to bushes with an earthen ball or in a container. They have a good survival rate. After planting, the hydrangea with open roots must be planted immediately, otherwise it will dry out.

The roots are saturated with moisture - placed in a container of water for two hours, then cut to 2-3 cm in length to stimulate the development of new processes.

Landing technique

Planting pits are prepared in advance - two weeks in advance, so that the soil and nutrients settle.

The landing technology is as follows:

  • dig holes 60-70 cm deep, 50 cm wide;
  • 1/3 fill with drainage (pebbles, crushed stone, screenings or brick chips);
  • then half filled with fertile soil mixture from a bucket of dug soil, 5 kg of compost or humus, 100 g of superphosphate, 40 g of potassium sulfate and 500 g of wood ash;
  • lower the root system, sprinkle it with a nutritious composition to the top;
  • they trample around the near-trunk zone, moisten - 15 liters of water are poured under one bush;
  • in order to avoid quick drying out of the earth and roots, mulch with peat.

When planting, do not deepen the root collar, since during the first watering it will begin to rot and the seedling will die. It is also important to maintain a distance in group cultivation - at least 3.5 m between the bushes. So they will receive the required amount of light, moisture and fertilizer.

Care rules

The basic care of the Incrediball tree hydrangea is not much different from the rules for planting and growing other varieties of this crop.

Watering

Loves moderate humidity, does not tolerate drying out of the soil. Immediately, the seedlings are moistened every other day, so that the roots start new shoots faster and the shrub grows. All subsequent watering is necessary after the soil dries out to 4-5 cm depth.

Be sure to have abundant moisture in early spring, before the blooming of vegetative buds, before and after flowering, as well as in autumn, when the hydrangea will shed its foliage. Pour 25-30 liters under each plant.

Use settled and warm water to prevent hypothermia of the roots.

Periodic sprinkling of the crown has a positive effect on the growth and decorativeness of hydrangea. This is especially necessary in extreme heat and drought. The procedure is carried out in the evening, which helps to avoid the appearance of burns on the stems and leaves.

Loosening and feeding

The soil is loosened regularly the next day after watering. This procedure helps to keep the soil light and moisture permeable.

Together with loosening, they remove unnecessary vegetation, weed the soil between the rows and around the bushes. Then mulch is applied, which prevents weed growth and rapid evaporation of moisture. Use sawdust peat, compost or humus.

Top dressing

Correct and timely nutrition plays an important role in the growth and decorativeness of the shrub. Fertilizers are applied several times per season:

  • at the beginning of spring, the trunk circle is spilled with a solution of urea, nitrophoska or nitroammophoska - 1 tbsp. l. diluted in 10 liters of water;
  • a week before the start of budding, they are fed with a liquid composition - 15 g of superphosphate and potassium sulfate will be required for a bucket of water;
  • 14 days before the first stable cold weather, leaf compost or rotted manure is embedded in the soil under the bush.

In order for the roots to quickly assimilate nutrients, after feeding, abundant watering is carried out. Also, moisture prevents the occurrence of burns on the rhizome.

Pruning

Hydrangea Incredibol is regularly pruned, which helps to maintain a beautiful appearance and decorative effect of the crown.

In spring and autumn, shoots are cut out that grow inward and at the wrong angle. Also, all diseased parts are cut off - frozen, broken off by the wind or damaged by diseases.

To prevent the bush from contracting infections, use a sharp and disinfected tool. After pruning, the crown is irrigated with copper sulfate.

Care during and after flowering

In the phase of active flowering, hydrangea should be watered moderately, avoiding overflows, otherwise the inflorescences will be small. Also, do not feed, which will negatively affect the quality and number of buds.

At the end of this period, cut off all dried flowers.After a couple of weeks, you can feed it with liquid fertilizer (15 g of superphosphate and potassium sulfate are consumed per 10 liters of water). These ingredients strengthen the root system and help the shrub recover faster.

Preparing for winter

Adult shrubs (from three years old) do not cover, but only mulch the near-trunk circle. Before this age, careful preparation for the winter is necessary:

  • first mulch with a thick layer of fallen leaves, peat or compost;
  • twigs are tied into a bunch, bent to the ground, covered with sawdust or any other mulch;
  • the top is covered with spruce branches.

Reproduction

There are several options for breeding new seedlings:

  • Cuttings. They are cut in spring or summer. Take shoots of the current year with several leaves and buds. Immersed in Kornevin's solution for an hour, then deepened into a mixture of peat and sand by 3-4 cm, moisten. Cover with foil and put in a warm place. Air every day, water as needed. As soon as they release new leaves, the shelter is removed, after a month of growing, they are planted in open ground.
  • Stem layering. On the bush, choose a flexible lignified twig, close to the ground. All the leaves are removed on it, lowered into a groove in a horizontal position, covered with a mixture of peat, humus and sand (1: 1: 1), watered. To avoid freezing, the buried branch is sprinkled with fallen leaves, sawdust a month before the first frost. When the above zero temperature stabilizes, it is dug up, separated from the bush, divided into segments with roots, and seated separately.
  • By dividing the bush. This method is used for old hydrangeas that have lost their decorative effect and grow slowly. The procedure for dividing the root is carried out in the fall - first it is watered, then dug up, washed off all the remnants of the soil, cut into pieces. Each delenka should have several roots with one stem and buds. Places of cuts are sprinkled with charcoal, seated in a flower garden.

Diseases and pests

Due to its good immunity, it is rarely damaged by infections and pests. Infection is possible only if the rules of agricultural technology are violated:

  • from fungal sores (rust, powdery mildew, gray rot, fungicides are used) Bordeaux liquid, copper sulfate, Ridomil gold, Skor or Hom;
  • insecticides help against aphids, spider mites, caterpillars - Aktellik, Aktara, Fitoverm.

For prevention, gardeners recommend double irrigation of the crown with chemistry in early spring and late autumn. It is also necessary to buy healthy seedlings, avoid thickening when planting them, regularly loosen, weed, remove weeds and cut out diseased parts.

Application

In landscape design, this Incredibol variety is especially in demand - a shrub with snow-white inflorescences can be combined with any ornamental vegetation in rabatkas, rock gardens and mixborders.
