Description of the mushroom

According to the species description, the volnushka mushroom looks like this:

  • has a characteristic hairy cover along the edges of the cap;
  • has a hat with a width of 1.5 to 10 cm;
  • the cap has a convex shape, goes with a funnel to the leg in the center.

The older the mushroom becomes, the less noticeable are the characteristic hairs on its cap, therefore it is confused with other species.

Volnushka has a similar appearance in characteristic features to many milk mushrooms that grow in the forest, but there are differences. The color of the surface of the cap is pink, orange, sometimes there is a tint of white, but more often it is yellow or gray. Wide circular stripes in alternating light and dark tones. The pulp of this type of mushroom is yellow, like the cap, only slightly lighter, sometimes red.

Representatives of this species grow in forests.

The volnushka mushroom is edible, has a white-yellow juice. It does not change its shade from contact with air. This is a striking difference from other representatives of the Mlechnik family. For example, from milkweed, whose pulp eventually turns black. The stem is dense and smooth, rarely hollow, and has a tubular appearance. The hymenophore is lamellar, like a saffron milk cap.

Mushroom species

In order to calmly collect edible waves, you need to know their differences from poisonous varieties. There are representatives that grow in forests in sandy areas. Inedible mushrooms do not appear in such conditions.

  • White wave: the species, which in another way is called whitewater, often grows in groups. The young mushroom has a convex cap shape. When ripe, a dark funnel appears in the center of the cap. During the cut, white sap is noticeable, which does not darken from contact with air.
  • Pink Volnushka: this species is characterized by the presence of a large cap, reaching up to 12 cm in diameter. At first it is convex, but over time, a funnel appears in the center. The pulp has a white color and a dense structure, due to which it is convenient to transport the mushroom even over fairly long distances. Waves of this type are the most common.

Beneficial features

The fungus has a positive effect on vision

Volnushka contains vitamins and enzymes, thanks to which it provides a number of beneficial properties for the body:

  • anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect;
  • positive effect on rheumatism, back and joint pain;
  • antibacterial effect;
  • benefits for immunity;
  • recovery after heavy physical or mental stress;

  • diseases of the stomach and intestines: ulcers, gastritis, pancreatitis, etc.;
  • children under 7 years of age;
  • pregnancy and lactation;
  • surgery to remove the gallbladder;

Application

The mushroom volnushka is widely used not only in cooking, but also in recipes for preparing tinctures and other medicinal decoctions.

In cooking

Volnushka is soaked in water only if it tastes too bitter. The first broth must be drained and cooked only in the second. The hairs are cleaned and cut with an exceptionally sharp knife, otherwise their structure will be damaged. Hymenophore (plates on the underside of the cap), if necessary, it is better to remove.

You should not store dishes with mushrooms for more than two to 2 days, it is better to eat them immediately after cooking. This is especially true for recipes that include potatoes. If it is not possible to immediately prepare a dish, the product is stored in the refrigerator and the mushrooms are not washed before using them, otherwise all useful properties will be lost. Volnushka can be frozen.

To get rid of the bitter taste of mushrooms, they are soaked overnight in a room with cold air - then they do not taste bitter. The water is changed 4 times a day. Only after that is the dish prepared.

Delicious soups, main courses and cold salads are made from the waves. They are also used for making pies, which are important to serve hot. The method of salting the waves is simple: you need to put them in a container in layers, add spices and leave to infuse in their own juice under a press for 10 days.

In medicine

Volushka mushrooms are indispensable in the treatment of diabetes mellitus, high blood pressure, epilepsy and anemia. They are also effective for vision problems and edema. As a treatment with a cold fungus, it is carried out on the affected surface. Mushrooms have found application in cancer and nervous disorders.

Extract from the juice of mushrooms is used for renal failure, it also removes warts. Boiled mushroom relieves inflammation on the skin. In cosmetology, it is used in the manufacture of anti-aging masks and in maintaining the beauty of the face and skin.

Growing method

The mushroom is often grown on the territory of a summer cottage in a greenhouse. To do this, take a supply of straw and sawdust. There is a way to grow them from mycelium: you need to find an overripe mushroom, cut it into slices and dry it for 24 hours in a cool room.

While the mycelium is drying, prepare the soil for planting. The process is performed at the end of summer: overripe mushrooms are eaten only during this period. Land for planting is dug up, and then fertilized. Dried parts are sown in deep holes, laid with sawdust, and straw is laid on top.

Irina Selyutina (Biologist):

Let's take a closer look at how to grow a wave in a summer cottage, in particular a pink wave. You can use mycelium from wild mushrooms or purchased. Mycelium in specialized online stores can be purchased in the following forms:

  1. Mycelium is live fresh primary cereal.
  2. Biologically dried primary cereal mycelium.

Wild mycelium for growing can be obtained from:

  1. Collect overgrown mushrooms in the forest, finely chop and dry in the shade for 24 hours.
  2. Collect overripe mushrooms and chop them finely, pour cold water over a day and from time to time stir the contents with a stick.

While the planting material is being prepared, create a "mushroom bed". Choose a location that is well lit by the sun and:

  1. Dig up the soil and apply organic fertilizer.
  2. Make deep planting grooves.
  3. Spread the planting material evenly along the entire length of the furrows.
  4. Sprinkle with sawdust on top and on top of them - place a thick layer of leaves, hay or straw.

There is no need to water the planting. The humidity level should be low. Please note! In the first year after planting, it is better not to harvest, but to let the mycelium grow stronger. Start picking mushrooms from the second year.

When growing volushki, do not forget that these are not oyster mushrooms or champignons - you will be able to get a crop only once a year.

Conclusion

Volnushka is a godsend for a mushroom picker.It is used for the preparation of medicinal or cosmetic tinctures, delicious dishes. It is possible to grow mushrooms in your summer cottage. The main thing is to know the difference between an inedible representative and one that is used for cooking.
