Description of the mushroom

Regardless of its growth stage, the mushroom always looks the same. Its description:

  • the cap is painted in a dark shade of yellow, has a hemispherical shape, diameter - 5-12 cm;
  • the pulp of the cap has a mushroom smell and a bitter taste;
  • inside the mushroom without veins, the color of the flesh is cream;
  • the hymenophore plates located at the bottom of the cap are dark, capable of staining the skin of the hands when touched;
  • the stem of the mushroom is strongly expanded at the base, which makes it stable;
  • the color of the leg is yellow with pale veins;
  • the length of the leg can reach 15 cm and has a cross section of 1–2.5 cm.

For your information. The pulp of the triumphal cobweb does not have a special smell or taste, but upon contact with alkali (for example, KOH) it turns yellow.

The color scheme of the mushroom is common - it should be carefully examined to make sure there is no mistake. Many inedible mushrooms look similar, such as red and purple cobwebs.

Irina Selyutina (Biologist):

Despite its fairly widespread prevalence on the territory of the Russian Federation, the triumphal webcap is included in the Red Book of Moscow and the Moscow Region. Here it belongs to the 2nd category - a rare species on the territory of Moscow. In 2010, representatives of the species were found in Kurkin - on the Antenny fields near the Verkhnebratovsky bog. It is believed that the species is most likely confined to damp and mossy places, which is why it received the specific name-synonym for pimp.

The limiting (limiting) factors for the Moscow region are currently not clear for mycologists, but with regard to Moscow, everything is more or less clear and rests on a limited area of birch forests (both damp and drier) located near the near-delta bogs.

The species was first described in 1838 by the Swedish mycologist and botanist Elias Magnus Fries, who included it in the Spiderweb genus to which the species belongs to this day.

The yellow webcap has no subspecies. His color is different, depending on the territory in which he grew up. The mushroom acquires a dark color due to high humidity.

This type of outback grows in places with high humidity and high rainfall.

Deciduous trees are necessary for its growth: their fallen leaves are fertilizer for mushrooms. The fungus is a mycorrhizal forming agent widespread on the territory of Eurasia and prefers to enter into symbiotic relations in representatives of the drooping birch species for the formation of the fungus root.

Beneficial features

According to the description, now the yellow spiderweb is not used in folk medicine, but it has been proven that it has strong antiseptic properties. They stopped using it as a medicine, because because of its color it is easy to confuse it with some kind of poisonous mushroom.

Cobweb tincture perfectly relieves the feeling of heaviness in the stomach and stops vomiting in case of poisoning.

Be careful when using the product. It has a number of contraindications. It is not recommended to use it if:

  • high blood glucose levels;
  • cardiovascular disease;
  • pregnancy and lactation period;
  • diseases of the large intestine.

Also, the use of mushrooms is prohibited for children and the elderly: their bodies do not have enzymes for digesting this type of mushrooms (in children, they have not yet become so necessary active due to the non-maturity of the digestive system, but in the elderly - due to aging of the body and, accordingly, age-related changes in all organ systems). The use of the mushroom is undesirable during pregnancy: its effect on the woman's body is not fully understood.

Application

The harvesting season for yellow cobwebs is during the growth of more edible and useful mushrooms, so mushroom pickers usually bypass them.

When cooking, the yellow spider web is rarely used, since different sources interpret its edibility differently. If on the territory of the Russian Federation many mushroom pickers consider the triumphal cobweb to be the most delicious cobweb, then representatives of foreign sources have a diametrically opposite opinion about this type of mushroom - it is considered a typically inedible mushroom. Also, the recipes by which it is prepared are not so common.

Knowledgeable people use the yellow spiderweb in case of poisoning or if a natural antiseptic becomes necessary.

It is strictly forbidden to self-medicate using this webcap, since the mushroom has a list of contraindications. There are also age restrictions for its use: the body may not have enzymes that facilitate the assimilation of the product.

Conclusion

The yellow spider web can be eaten if there is confidence in its authenticity. Inexperienced mushroom pickers should not pick these mushrooms, since their color and shape are similar to the features of the external structure inherent in some of the poisonous species.

Children, pregnant women, nursing mothers and the elderly are strictly prohibited from using these mushrooms in any form.
