Characteristics of the variety

Fruits ripen at the end of July or at the beginning of August on the 110th day from the moment of vegetation. The variety has a good yield, increased frost resistance and resistance to fungal diseases.

According to the description of the variety, the bush is medium-sized. Leaves are standard size. The bunches are large, cylindrical or conical in shape. The weight of 1 bunch is 700 gr. In good weather conditions, the weight can reach 1 kg.

The berries are large, bright red, oblong-oval or cylindrical in shape, there is often an interception in the center. The length of the berry reaches 5 cm, weight up to 16 g. The pulp is of medium density, juicy and crunchy, with a sweet and sour taste.

The peel does not crack, the fruits are able to be stored on the bushes until the first frost, and are not affected by wasps. They perfectly tolerate transportation, have a good presentation.

Growing varieties

Before growing Carnival grapes, consider the climatic characteristics of your region. If the winter has little snow, but frosty, plant the grapes in a hole or trench. If the winters are snowy and the summers are short and cool, create loose beds and plant seedlings in them. Pits protect the root system from frost, and fill beds provide the plant with warmth during the summer months.

According to the description of the variety, grapes are planted both in spring and autumn. It all depends on the selected planting material. The easiest option for planting seedlings is in the fall in the holes.

Landing

  1. First, choose a well-lit, windless, not dry, level landing site.
  2. We dig a hole the size of the root system.
  3. We spread organic and complex mineral fertilizers at the bottom of the hole, cover it with a layer of gravel on top and lay twigs or planks. Also use wood shavings, they are needed to maintain soil moisture.
  4. We install a tube with a diameter of about 15 cm. It will serve as a means for watering the grapes and fertilizing the plant.
  5. We put a small layer of earth on top of wood shavings, branches or pieces of wood.
  6. Before planting the cuttings, we lower the roots into the prepared solution. Mix humus with clay, in a ratio of 1: 2.
  7. Cut the shoots at a few points at the top and dip them in melted paraffin.
  8. Then we place the seedling in the hole and straighten its roots. We fill the plants with the remaining soil and carefully tamp them.
  9. Next, pour warm water over the grapes and mulch the hole with humus or compost.

When planting several bushes, leave a distance between them not less than 1.5 m. If there is a minimum slope on the site, then plant grapes on a southern or southwestern canopy, orient yourself in the south-north direction. If the site is flat, in any convenient place, build a solid fence from a profiled sheet, the height of which will be about 2 m, orient yourself along the east-west line.

Care features

In order to properly form a grape bush of the breeder Pavlovsky's variety, a trellis is installed. The simplest design: 2 posts made of wood or metal, on which several rows of wire are stretched. Vines, as they grow, are carefully tied to the wire, guiding the vine for growth on their own.

The first three years, cuttings require a lot of attention. After a couple of days after rain or watering, gently rake the ground. Watch the moisture level carefully, remove weeds. The three-year-old vineyard is watered about 4 times per season during the most important growth phases of the plant.

Carnival requires periodic feeding through a tube and on sheets. Prevention of the disease is required, which is carried out with the help of special fungicides. It is important to carefully examine the plants in order to avoid the appearance of dangerous diseases or parasites that can lead to the death of the entire bush.

In the fall, after the leaves fall off, the grapes are pruned. As soon as the first night frosts appear, the vines are removed from their supports and nailed to the ground with staples. Then it is treated with a solution of copper sulfate and covered with plastic wrap.

Don't rush to open the grapes in the spring. Remove the film after the sudden temperature changes have stopped.

About 10 days before flowering, stop watering the grapes, otherwise excessive moisture contributes to the shedding of flowers, reduces the rate of fruit ripening.

Conclusion

Growing grapes of the Pavlovsky selection is a complex process, but quite feasible if you take into account the description of the variety and follow the technology. With this approach, after a few years, you can enjoy juicy fruits.
