Composition and purpose
The basis of cytokinin paste is the phytohormonal agent cytokinin. Its purpose is to stimulate the process of plant cell division. Among other components, vitamins in lanolin are noted.
Purpose of cytokinin treatment:
- acceleration of the awakening of dormant buds and the appearance of fresh lateral processes;
- regulation of metabolic processes in tissues;
- building up a lush mass of leaves;
- delay in aging and cell decay processes;
- activation of growth;
- acceleration of the onset of the flowering stage.
Without fail, cytokinin is used to prolong the period of winter dormancy in a flower. They are treated with orchids when deformed leaves appear.
Cytokinin ointment should be used to get the flower to start flowering and to reproduce the orchid by dividing by children. A properly used product can also restore a wilted flower that has suffered from adverse factors, including:

- plants are treated at the end of the winter period or at the beginning of spring, when the dormant stage of the flower ends,
- simultaneously with the hormonal stimulant, nitrogen-containing fertilizing complexes are used, after, at the stage of the appearance and development of peduncles and children, formulations with phosphorus and potassium are used for feeding,
- provide thorough flower care, maintaining the necessary levels of temperature and humidity, light intensity and watering.
It is not recommended to use cytokinin paste for orchids:
- on flowers affected by pests or diseased flowers, as well as those who have undergone short-term stress during the transplantation process,
- on foliage and root system, because in the first case, this leads to foliage dumping and in the second - to root decay,
- on young flowers and children until 5 leaves appear or the orchid reaches the age of 2 years,
- on fresh riding shoots,
- on a flowering plant or immediately after the end of the flowering stage.
Processing more than 3 buds on one peduncle at the same time is not recommended, because.leads to excessive weakening of the plant.
Effectiveness of the paste
Reduce the effectiveness of the cytokinin stimulant or completely neutralize the effect of its use:
- low humidity
- low or too high air temperature.
To increase the effectiveness of the action of the tool helps:
- heating the cooled ointment to room temperature for 2 hours,
- moisturizing the treated area,
- creating the necessary humidity in the room or placing the flower on a pallet with water.
