Characteristics of the drug

Epin (aka Epin-Extra) and Zircon are drugs that are needed to regulate the processes of root formation, growth and fruiting. The main component of the drug is purpurea echinacea extract.

Advantages and disadvantages

Pros of using biostimulants:

  • significant reduction in rooting time;
  • stimulation of root-forming processes and maturation of generative flowers;
  • exposure to facilitated transfer of adverse environmental factors;
  • multiple increase in productivity;
  • resistance to the accumulation of heavy metals and harmful substances;
  • beneficial effect on the rate of maturation;

Minuses:

  • toxicity;
  • contraindication for use in parallel with other stimulants;
  • excessive dosage adversely affects the development of phalaenopsis (for example, excessive leaf growth).

Application

Epin for orchids is used in stressful situations for the plant (frequent movements and changes in temperature and humidity regimes), after transplantation for the early engraftment of the plant, with suspicion of the appearance of parasites.

Fertilizer Zircon is used to treat and stimulate growth processes and the development of phalaenopsis. It promotes survival and strengthening of seedling roots, better adaptation and increased seed germination, and it can also be used to increase plant stress resistance and immunity.

Safety rules for use

Despite the safety of the preparations for animals and humans, as well as for beneficial insects and soil conditions, they are chemicals.

Epin and Zircon contain powerful substances. When working with them, you need to use a special suit, including a respirator or mask, rubber gloves, a hat and goggles.

After working with chemicals, all clothes are washed, mucous membranes are washed with water, take a shower and thoroughly wash. The container in which the preparation was diluted is not used in the future for cooking and eating food.

Upon contact with the skin surface, wash it with copious amounts of water. If the chemical gets into the eyes, then they are washed with a solution of baking soda (1 tsp for 0.2 liters of water), and then usually with tap water. If it enters the gastrointestinal tract, drink a few glasses of water and induce vomiting. It is advisable to use activated carbon (it will help remove the substances contained in Epin and Zircon).

Step by step instructions for use

When using Epin, a certain dosage should be observed: dilute one ampoule of 1 ml in 5 liters of water and mix thoroughly.Alkaline water inhibits the main substance of the stimulant, so it must be boiled. This solution is used for preventive spraying and watering. When processing orchids, a solution of one ampoule of medicine per 1 liter of water is used, then the bulbs or cuttings of the plant are immersed in it. The bulbs are kept in solution for up to 24 hours, and the cuttings for up to 12 hours.

If it is necessary to process orchid seeds, follow these instructions:

  1. the seeds are placed in a non-synthetic tissue flap and wrapped;
  2. a solution is poured into a certain container (no longer food);
  3. a cloth bag is dipped into a liquid and left to soak for 6-10 hours, kept up to 24 hours;
  4. the treated seeds are planted.
Rules for the use of Zircon and Epin

Rules for the use of Zircon and Epin

Unlike Epin, Zircon is not advised to be used for spraying, it can provoke tissue damage. The dose and concentration used depends on the end goal. To support the orchid during the period of intensive growth, 8 drops are diluted per 1 liter of water, and during the period of bud formation - 4 drops per the same volume of liquid. The recipe for the solution depends on the purpose of use.

When propagated by cuttings to restore immunity, for prophylactic purposes - 0.25 ml of the drug / 1 l of water. Cuttings are kept in solution for up to 18-24 hours. When picking seedlings in the case of seed growing - 1 ampoule / 10 l of water. The volume depends on the area to be treated. During the foliar treatment of an adult phalaenopsis, the same solution is used to improve the decorative properties. After the transferred pathology or parasitic attack, the solution is applied in a course for 10 days.

An absolutely healthy orchid cannot be reanimated by Epin or Zircon for no apparent reason.

Storage

Epin is stored in a cool, dark place, protected from sunlight. In a diluted state, it is better to store the drug for no more than 2 days.

Zircon for orchids is stored in a dark, dry place out of the reach of children and pets, where the temperature does not exceed 25 ° C. The shelf life is 3 years from the date of manufacture.

Conclusion

Epin and Zircon for orchids are effective preparations familiar to many flower growers, which in adverse situations save plants and extend their life.
