The use of the drug Corado from the Colorado potato beetle
Every farmer knows firsthand how dangerous vegetable pests are, especially when it comes to Colorado beetles, which are capable of developing immunity to insecticides. Corado preparation from the Colorado potato beetle is a reliable and proven remedy, easy to use. The main thing is to observe correctly all proportions and safety rules when working with chemicals.
Description of the drug
Corado is an effective remedy that fights not only the Colorado potato beetle, but also aphids. This is a fairly concentrated pesticide, which is characterized by a rather pungent specific odor.
The Indian drug appeared on the market not so long ago. Its peculiarity is that it is sufficiently resistant to sunlight and does not lend itself to moisture.
Pests are not yet immune to this remedy. After processing the culture, it is under protection for a month. Corado acts quickly and does not give a chance to beetles, aphids and even their larvae.
Release form
In order not to run into a fake, you should know that the Corado Tool has an original release form.
- The drug is sold in ampoules of 1 ml, as well as 5 ml. On sale are single ampoules or 5 pieces in a blister.
- Implementation in vials of 10 and 25 ml, with plastic packaging and packed in cardboard boxes.
The preparation is packed in small doses due to the high concentration of the active substance in the preparation. This packaging also facilitates dilution of the drug. To avoid counterfeiting, a unique security barcode is applied to each ampoule and product package.
Insecticide Corado has a pronounced odor, characteristic of products containing pesticides. The bottles have a sealed lid that can be easily screwed up - this makes it possible to be sure that the product will not spill. The packaging reliably protects the chemical from overheating of sunlight and moisture.
Chemical action
Already 2 hours after the potatoes have been processed, the drug begins to take effect. Affected beetles begin to refuse food, i.e. from potatoes. The pesticide Corado has a targeted paralytic effect and instantly affects the nervous system of the beetle, although at first glance it might seem different. Due to the fact that the poisoned Colorado potato beetle has physical activity for 3 days. After this period, the larvae and adult beetles die.
The main advantage of Corado in the fight against the Colorado potato-eating beetle is that it is very difficult to develop immunity to this kind of pesticide. The instructions for use indicate that the treatment with an insecticide, carried out once, will retain its properties for several seasons in a row, after which the chemical should be replaced for a while in order not to allow harmful insects to develop immunity to poison.
Breeding rules
Instructions for use against various pests differ in the concentration of the pesticide. In order for the processing of potatoes and other vegetables to go right and the Colorado beetles leave your garden, you will need to prepare a solution. We will prepare an insecticidal solution in two stages.
- Take a container with markings up to five liters. Next, pour in 2 liters of water 1 ml of Corado, mix thoroughly.
- Then add some water to the 5 l mark. Stir well.
This volume of pesticide solution is enough to treat a 1 hundred square meter planting area. Read the instructions for use carefully before proceeding with any pesticide application.
A more saturated concentrate is prepared in the fight against aphids, which attack vegetables and spoil the harvest. For the treatment of fruit trees from Aphids, we use the following proportions: for 10 liters of water, 2-5 ml of the chemical. If the situation with the pest is in a very neglected state, then: 10 liters of water 5-7 ml of poison. We also use concentrate treatment against flies: 2 ml of insecticide per 10 liters of water. The solution consumption for irrigation will be 5 liters per adult tree.
Terms of use
If you have prepared a solution, then it should be used immediately that day due to the fact that the insecticide may lose its properties. Also, when working with a chemical, you must follow a number of rules:
- irrigate with pesticide only in warm dry weather;
- also on this day there should be no wind;
- the air temperature should fluctuate between 12 and 27.
Of course, it is better to check the weather forecast in advance in order to avoid unexpected precipitation. Indeed, in order for the poison to be absorbed and had time to settle tightly on the leaves of a vegetable crop, it will take 5 hours.
In order to properly process the plants, you should also take into account the time of the procedure. Spraying with chemicals is usually done in the evening, starting at 18.00. If there is a need for morning spraying, then this should be done before 10.00 in order to avoid burns of foliage and stems.
When irrigating plants, you need to use the instructions:
- spray abundantly;
- try not to affect neighboring plant species;
- carry out wetting exactly without gaps.
Safety engineering
Any work with chemicals requires compliance with safety regulations. Everyone who uses an insecticide in their garden should remember this. The very first and most important rule is the observance of the proportions when preparing the solution and strict adherence to the instructions.
You should also choose the right clothes when handling poison. Clothes should be made of dense fabrics and cover all areas of the skin. It is advisable to take rubber shoes, for their convenience in cleaning in the future. To protect your eyes and respiratory tract, wear a respirator and safety goggles.
Never try to use food utensils as a dilution container. Do not eat or drink while working with a pesticide, and do not smoke while working. Once you have been treated with pesticides, you cannot eat vegetables from the treated plants for 20 days.
If the product gets on the body, it is urgent to wipe the place with a cotton pad and rinse abundantly with soap and water. If a severe burn remains in place, see a dermatologist. If insecticide gets into your eyes, rinse with water as soon as possible. If a chemical enters the body with food, you need to induce a gag reflex, and then drink the sorbent. In any case, of the above, you should immediately provide first aid to the person and be sure to call an ambulance.
