The best place for geese is an industrial type goose bed. In reality, the goose-house is a small shed, which it is quite possible to build on your own. The main thing is to take into account all the points: recommendations and conditions that will make it possible to quickly and efficiently complete the structure.

Features of the construction of a goose house

You can build a shed for geese directly at home or in the country in the village, the places of possible placement depend on the wishes of the owner. But what is important is to create a favorable climate in the barn, suitable for birds: it should not be too hot in summer, and cold in winter. To create a reliable room for keeping geese with your own hands, initially it is worth preparing all the materials that will be needed for creation, and developing detailed drawings, they include internal and external norms and are taken based on the number of birds. Professionals advise building with a small margin (if the plans include the production of goods for subsequent sale).

The most popular building materials for this business are cinder blocks and wooden beams. Such a room for geese will be warm and cozy. The final choice is entirely based on climatic conditions. To work with the first ones an order of magnitude faster, but they are not stable if they are under the influence of moisture, the tree, on the contrary, keeps heat very well, but to build a room for keeping geese, you will have to spend more time.

Basic requirements for the premises

Before creating the drawings, it is important to remember some points thanks to which the birds will be able to feel good and give a certain number of eggs, therefore, the arrangement of the room provides for the following requirements:

  1. The temperature background and the arrangement of the goose-house. The goose is the main habitat for birds, especially in winter, so keeping the temperature constant will be an important aspect. If possible, then you should think over the schemes for additional heating of the air.
  2. Square. The correct calculation of the minimum territory is made based on the number of geese, therefore, in order to build a do-it-yourself goose house for 20 geese, you need a room of 20 square meters. m, respectively, each goose is provided with 1 sq. m.
  3. Since the device of a home gosper is made using natural materials (as an option - wood, straw, etc.), the level of moisture in the air must be maintained in the room. The conditions are ideal when it stays dry even in winter.
  4. Normal air circulation should be maintained in the shed, but it is also impossible that there are very large (large) holes, because these are additional drafts.
  5. Leave enough space around the house to make a summer pen in which geese can walk in adverse (rainy) weather.
  6. If possible, then the right decision is to build a home gosper somewhere on a hill. In this case, the room will be reliably protected from rain moisture, because the large thickness of the soil guarantees additional protection.
  7. A stable for geese should not only be created correctly, it is also important to maintain a favorable microclimate. To maintain the proper level of keeping geese, it is necessary to carefully arrange the premises, which will allow you to survive the summer heat and winter, therefore, a hinged door is provided for connection to the pen, with its help the bird will be able to move freely.

If the previously mentioned criteria are not met, then it is likely that the farmer will experience a decline in the quality of the product being produced.

Choosing a place for a barn

It's not so difficult to build a goose house with your own hands.

Initially, it is necessary to select a site, preferably in order to protect the premises from spring floods and groundwater. In the southern regions, where there is an excess of solar radiation, the gosper is built with a facade to the southeast or west, in the northern and central regions to the south, so that the sun's rays fall into the sheds.

The floors in the barn are made of adobe or wood, it is important that they are raised about 20 cm above ground level (if plus or minus a centimeter, this is not a problem). This is necessary so that groundwater does not fall into the do-it-yourself goose bed, creating dampness and leading to the development of diseases in geese.

Construction of premises according to the rules

After the plan-project of creation is ready, the farmer must prepare all the essentials in order to build and then insulate the do-it-yourself goose house in the shortest possible time:

  1. Work equipment.
  2. Household tools.
  3. Fastening materials.
  4. Measuring instruments.
  5. Building materials.

Construction stages

With such a construction, it is very important not only to choose the right materials, but also to follow the phased construction rules as much as possible.

Pouring the foundation

Marking is made in the previously designated place for the gooseneck. To do this correctly, it is important to follow the drawings. Next is digging a trench for the foundation. The size is half a meter deep and the same width.

This is necessary so that a layer of sand and crushed stone can be poured into it. Then they put reinforcement and fill the trench with concrete. In order to avoid the penetration of small and large pests into the premises, the farmer must carefully monitor the process of pouring concrete.

Creating walls

After pouring, take a short break. This period is necessary for a good solidification of the foundation. After that, the construction of the walls begins.

According to the standards, the height of the walls should be at least 2 m.If it is a hand-made wooden gooseneck, then for the frame, as well as on the floors, professionals recommend using high-quality material (good boards and beams).

Floor installation

The floors in the home goose house are made of either wood or concrete.

Each of the options presented has its own advantages and disadvantages. The first is a natural building material that allows air to pass through. It is mounted very quickly, which saves time, providing the bird with warmth in the goose house. But it does not block the penetration of pests; in terms of wear, it deteriorates much faster than concrete, as it is prone to decay.

The second guarantees tightness, a perfect surface, preventing the penetration of ground water. But it is much colder than the previous one, does not allow air to pass through well and at high temperatures can release specific vapors.

Roof installation

Keeping geese can, without exaggeration, be called a difficult task, therefore the construction process, as well as the subsequent arrangement, must be carried out in accordance with all requirements.

The roof is installed using standard technology. The main criterion in choosing a roof: it should protect the gosper as much as possible from external manifestations and precipitation, be reliable so as not to break from snow or under wind blows.

Installation of doors and windows

During installation, you need to think over everything so that at least one window hole can be opened, this is required to ventilate the room. The content of the bird must comply with the standards, and if there is humid air inside, then it can get sick from the emerging harmful microorganisms.

All the rest can be deaf, this will provide a more stable heating and temperature standard.

Additional insulation

The northern side can be additionally insulated; for this, use foam or special material (sawdust or store insulation), which will be used for the rest of the parts: walls and roof. They all have their own characteristics.

  1. Mineral wool. Excellent air permeability, easy to install, but quickly rots from moisture, settles.
  2. Styrofoam. Easy to install, excellent heat retention, but takes up too much space. It does not allow water to pass through, therefore moisture will accumulate in the rooster.
  3. Sawdust is affordable, guarantees excellent ventilation, but, like rock wool, quickly begins to rot.

If it is possible to ventilate the room on a permanent basis in the barn, then artificial materials such as polystyrene or polystyrene can be used for additional insulation. They perfectly fulfill their role, keep warm inside.

Plus, if the farmer lives in an area with high humidity, this is a standard phenomenon, then it is worth taking artificial materials. After insulation, part of the room is upholstered with wooden boards. If the building is built from cinder block or brick, then it does not need insulation.

The final arrangement of the goose-house.

When the room is ready, you need to move on to the final stage - the arrangement. Moreover, the inside of the rooster should look no worse than the outside, so the farmer removes the building materials from the premises without any problems with his own hands. Next, disinfection is carried out: a special solution of salt and lime is used for it. For 10 liters of water, take 150-200 g of salt and 2 kg of lime. The floors, walls are treated with this solution, and only after 3 days of drying and airing, the geese can be run into the barn. It is also important to arrange the places of rest and feeding. The room is divided into 2 equal parts, in one of them there will be young animals, in the other - adults.

Basic requirements for nests

There should be several of them, since some individuals may consider established nests as their own and not allow others to approach them, therefore 1 nest is enough for two geese. If the goose bed is designed for 20 geese, it is enough to make 8-10 nests. They need to be placed on the south side, but in the dark part of the room.

Feeders

Feeders should be intact and long enough to prevent geese from fighting over food. If it is a do-it-yourself goose house for 20 geese, let there be about 3-4 feeders.

Feeders for geese are used of 2 types: for wet mash and dry food. The latter are fixed on the wall above the ground. Thus, you can save space well, plus it is convenient for the birds to eat.

Barn floors

If the floors are wooden, then there is no need for additional bedding, although they keep heat in the barn very well and also hold back dirt, so the farmer does not have to clean the goose bed daily.

Barn cleanliness is critical to the growth and development of the bird. In a dirty room, geese are more likely to get sick.

Drinking bowls

Troughs, basins, etc. are suitable for the role of a drinker. It is enough for the farmer to monitor the purity of the water.A two-meter drinking bowl is suitable for 10 geese, but here it is important to take into account the size of the goose itself.

These birds need plenty of water and plenty of space. A photo of the device of an industrial gooseneck clearly demonstrates how geese should settle in such a room. A do-it-yourself goose bed, designed for 20 geese, is practically an industrial box.

Lighting

The lighting system and indoor climate play an important role if you decide to build your own gooseneck. Providing these parameters is the main goal of creating a goose dwelling. During this, it is important to adhere to the following standards:

  1. The humidity level is not lower than 40 and not more than 70%. Optimally, the average value is somewhere between 50 and 60%.
  2. Temperature background - up to 27 ° С.

Additional heating should be provided for young animals. For these purposes, you can use an infrared lamp, the main thing is to make sure that the lamp is low enough to heat the room, but high enough so that young individuals are not burned. Goslings, through negligence, can injure themselves, burns.

The final part of construction

Each of the stages has its own nuances that must be observed in order for a self-made room to serve the farmer for a very long time. All information, that is, photos and videos, about how we build a home goose can be found in the public domain on the Internet. This will greatly facilitate the understanding of all stages of work.

A good goose house should include an area with flooring, nests, a drinker, and a feeder. When the bird is comfortable, then it will normally collect all and lay a sufficient number of eggs. The device of a home goose is not easy, but profitable from the point of view of financial costs.
