The use of dung beetle mushroom in the treatment of alcoholism
Dung beetle mushroom from alcoholism is the best folk remedy that has long been known to our ancestors in the fight against this disease. On its basis, infusions are made. In pharmacology, ready-made biologically active drugs have been developed for the treatment of the disease.
The benefits of dung beetle
This species is classified as conditionally edible lamellar mushrooms. Its name is associated with its preferred growing area - it loves humus-rich soils and garbage pits, places near stables and pigsties, vegetable gardens and places near hedges. Widely distributed on the European and Asian continents. The fruiting period is June-October.
The scientific name for the dung fungus is koprinus. Overgrown specimens become black, therefore it is also called an ink or tar fungus.
In the treatment of alcoholism, several varieties are used:
- koprinus gray: considered a means leading to positive results in the fight against alcoholism in a short time, due to the maximum content of specific toxic compounds in it;
- coprinus flickering, because white and because scattered: have less pronounced medicinal properties and delayed action. The minimum amount of the active substance is found in the species white dung beetle and n. absent-minded.
Active ingredient and its action
The chemical composition of dung beetle contains the main active substance - tetraethylthiuramide disulfide, which oxidizes alcohol entering the body.
Irina Selyutina (Biologist):
Specialists-mycologists from St. Petersburg have developed on the basis of the mushroom koprinus komatus, or dung beetle, a white drug for the treatment of drunkenness - "Fungo-Shi Koprinus". As long-term studies have shown, white dung beetle acts softer (without causing uncontrolled vomiting), in comparison with gray dung beetle, but it fulfills its purpose - the development of aversion to alcohol.
By the way. Known similar in action drug "Disulfiram", which leads to the rejection of alcoholic products due to dissolution under its influence of ethanol and the conversion of the latter into an enzyme toxic to humans - acetaldehyde.
Accumulating in the body, the active substance leads to the following symptoms:
- redness of the face and cyanosis of the skin on various parts of the body;
- pallor of the earlobes and the tip of the nose;
- tachycardia;
- semi-fainting and dizziness;
- inhibition of thought processes;
- difficulty speaking;
- slowing down the response to external irritating factors;
- the appearance of bouts of heartburn, excruciating nausea and vomiting;
- upset gastrointestinal tract, intestinal colic;
- vision problems.
All these extremely “interesting” and “magical” transformations with humans are caused by hydroxycyclopropylglutamine, which is conventionally called coprin.
As a result, such changes in the body that occur with the simultaneous use of alcoholic beverages and dung beetle lead to the appearance of a person's intolerance to alcoholic beverages.
Application
In the treatment of alcoholism, ready-to-drink coprinus is used in one of the available forms:
- powdery;
- capsule;
- in the form of rectal suppositories (suppositories).
Powder and extract dosage
Dung beet powder dissolves completely in the liquid. It contains an auxiliary component - gelatin. To prepare a drinking solution, 0.5 g of mushroom powder is diluted in 90-120 ml of heated water and stirred thoroughly.
They drink for several months before or after a meal, until the condition stabilizes.
When preparing drinking solutions from the extract of the ink fungus, 1 g of the active substance is used. The interval of application is after 2 days. The maximum allowable dosage is up to 2 g.
Application of capsules
When treating alcoholism with capsules, the dosage is 2 pcs. 75 g one time. The frequency of consumption is 3 times a day after meals. The duration of treatment is 30 days.
Rectal treatment
The frequency of using rectal suppositories is once a day (preferably at night). The duration of treatment is 30 days.
Fresh mushrooms
To prepare powder from fresh dung beetle, young specimens are collected until their caps are fully revealed. Prepare tinctures from them at once, tk. after a short time after collection, they begin to lose their beneficial properties.
Preparation of medicated powder:
- the mushroom cap is cut;
- fry until the liquid has completely evaporated;
- the cooled mass is ground into powder.
The dosage for the treatment is the same as for the ready-made (powder purchased at the pharmacy) koprinus.
Water infusions are less effective. Alcohol for solution preparation is prohibited.
Contraindications
There are a number of contraindications for the use of the drug:
- disorders in the renal system;
- liver disease;
- disturbances in the functioning of the heart muscle;
- problems with blood vessels;
- stomach and duodenal ulcers;
- respiratory tract diseases;
- allergic reactions to mushrooms;
- age over 60 years.
Conclusion
The coprinus mushroom helps to form a persistent aversion to alcoholic beverages. It is used in the form of powder, capsules, or rectal suppositories. The medicine can be prepared from fresh mushrooms yourself.
