Pharmacology of associated vaccination

The vaccine against myxomatosis and associated viral hemorrhagic disease of rabbits is produced in one of two possible strains:

  • B82 rabbit myxomatous viral pathogen,
  • B87 viral pathogen of rabbit hemorrhagic infection.

Outwardly, it looks like a dry porous mixture, the color shade of which ranges from light pink to light brown.

Live vaccine for rabbits against myxomatosis and VGBV is packed in sterilely processed sealed ampoule containers with a volume of 0.5-2 ml of active substance or in glass sealed vials with a volume of 4-6 ml of active substance.

When purchasing a dry vaccine against myxomatosis and HBV, special attention should be paid to the presence of labeling with the name of the manufacturer, batch and control titles, the date of packaging, quantitative data on the doses contained and the expiration date.

The quantitative indicator of the contained immunizing doses depends on the form of release in a container with a vaccine against myxomatosis and rabbit viral hemorrhagic disease and can range from 5 to 120.

Live dry vaccine can be used intramuscularly, subcutaneously or intradermally, causing stable resistance from the third day from the moment of vaccination, actively acting throughout the entire calendar year.

Action Nobivak Mixo

Nobivakov's vaccine against myxomatosis and VGBV is a set of a dry lyophilized mixture of a light pink shade with an attached solvent for making an injection solution in a bottle. It is made from a cell line that is infected with myxomatous viral infection with built-up coding GB genes in rabbits. In addition to viral strains, the preparation includes:

  • stabilizers, including 25 mg sorbitol, 12.5 mg gelatin hydrolyzate, 12.5 mg casein hydrolyzate,
  • sodium dihydrate - 0.065 mg.

The sterile phosphate-buffered diluent included in the vaccination kit, according to the instructions, is a mixture of sodium dihydrate (0.31 mg), potassium dihydrogen phosphate (0.21 mg) and water (1 ml).

When dissolved, Nobivac Mixo does not precipitate or flakes, it dissolves well into a homogeneous transparent liquid.

The release of Nobivak Mixo is organized in 1 or 50 immunizing doses in glass or plastic, packaged in 5-10 pieces.

When vaccinated with Nobivac Mixo, immunity against the effects of viral infections of myxomatosis and HBV is formed after a three-week period, ensuring the effect of the active substance throughout the entire calendar year.

Pharmacology Lapimune Gemix

The Ukrainian vaccine against rabbit myxomatosis and against HBV Lapimun Gemix refers to a drug that includes two main components:

  • the inactivated pathogen-source of viral hemorrhagic infection of rabbits is presented in the form of a suspension with the BG04 strain, which serves as a solvent,
  • myxomatous virus carrier is presented in the form of a lyophilisate of the MAV RK-13 \ 20 strain.

Medication Lapimune is placed in a 10 ml vial, which is 50 immunizing doses.

The vaccine develops a stable resistance from 1 to 2 weeks after injection and remains active for up to 10 months.

The resistance of rabbit organisms to hemorrhagic infection and myxomatosis is developed no later than two weeks from the date of vaccination with Lapimuna Gemix.

Among the contraindications for the use of a medicinal product, there are warnings in the instructions: when using the drug for rabbits, vaccination is avoided a week before the birth in order to avoid stress conditions in rabbits and associated mechanical abortions.

Vaccination dosages

Depending on the type of vaccine with which rabbits are vaccinated against myxomatosis and HBV, the instructions for the drug set their own dosage.

Live Associated Vaccination

The vaccine for rabbits against myxomatosis and HBV associated is applicable for the purpose of prophylaxis among healthy individuals. At the same time, in regions favorable for infections, vaccination occurs once, from the age of one and a half months old rabbits. In unfavorable areas where quarantine measures for myxomatosis and VGBV are imposed, rabbits are vaccinated, followed by repeated revaccination of young individuals three months after the initial vaccination.

The dosage order of the medication depends on the injection method:

  • for the purpose of intramuscular and subcutaneous injection, the dry mixture is diluted in proportion to 1 dosage of 0.5 ml of solution, and the finished prepared vaccine in a volume of 0.5 ml is injected in the thigh area,
  • for the purpose of intradermal administration of the drug, 1 dosage of the drug is diluted with 0.2 ml of the solution and the finished inoculation with a volume of 0.2 ml is injected into the auricle or into the undertail area.

When using the associated vaccine, revaccination is recommended after 9 months.

Nobivak Mixo

Nobivak vaccinates rabbits against myxomatosis and HBV. Pets by the time of the procedure must have reached the age of 5 weeks, and decorative dwarf breeds are also grafted. The vaccine for the disease must be diluted in a 1: 1 ratio, 1 ml is vaccinated subcutaneously. To prevent the rabbit from getting sick, revaccination with the drug is carried out at least once per calendar year.

Lapimun Gemix

Live vaccine for rabbits Lapimune Hemix in the form of a prophylactic agent against the disease is suitable for rabbits aged 10 weeks. It is introduced once in regions with a favorable epidemiological situation from the age of 10 weeks with the existing threat of infection, followed by revaccination upon reaching the age of 4 months. By the time of the first vaccination, the animal must have gained at least 0.5 kg. At lower rates, the vaccine for rabbits against myxomatosis and VGBV is postponed, it is done when the required mass is gained. For a single vaccination in rabbits against myxomatosis and VGBV, the dosage is 1.0 ml of the active substance obtained by mixing the suspension and the lyophilisate.

The method of injection is subcutaneously in the area behind the scapula. Vaccination Lapimune Hemix is repeated after 8 months.

When carrying out vaccination measures, it is necessary to follow the scheme, vaccinate on time, since a violation of the vaccination calendar often leads to a decrease in the effectiveness of the drug in the prevention of the disease. Before vaccinating rabbits, all animals are subject to mandatory deworming for 2 weeks.Carrying out deworming measures is also possible 2 weeks after the injection of one of the above drugs.

Side effects and special instructions

After vaccination, the animal is monitored for at least 20 days.

At the same time, the following can be observed as possible and permissible consequences:

  • slight enlargement of the lymph nodes, which disappear after 3 days,
  • some swelling at the injection site, which disappears after a 1-2 week period.

There were no negative side effects and any complications when using the vaccine against myxomatosis and HBV in rabbits. It should be borne in mind that they should not appear in conditions of compliance with the recommendations enshrined in the instructions for vaccine-containing preparations.

Symptomatic action is sometimes required for those individuals who are prone to hypersensitivity.

Containers with dry vaccine for rabbits against myxomatosis and HBV with the expired date of validity and without marking are not used. The same applies to mixtures that have changed color, liquids with impregnated impurities, medicines not used after 3-4 hours after opening.

In the process of administering injections, the rules of personal hygiene provided for working with medications are observed.

According to general rules, the shelf life of an active preparation for vaccination is 2 years, the solvent can be stored for 4 years in glass and 2 years in plastic. Medicines are stored in dry places with a temperature of 2-25 ° C; sunlight should not penetrate into the storage rooms.
