Map of mushroom places of the Tambov region
Not in every place mushroom pickers will be able to collect such a coveted harvest of mushrooms. It is easy to find out where the mushrooms of the Tambov region grow in abundance, because its mushroom card is always at hand.
Tambov is surrounded on all sides by mixed forests (403 thousand hectares). When the mushroom season comes, a large number of tourists go on a “quiet hunt”. They are attracted by the proximity to nature, the beauty and silence of the forest, the opportunity to breathe clean air saturated with the smell of medicinal herbs and pines. Also, everyone wants to take with them full baskets of fresh strong mushrooms.
Irina Selyutina (Biologist):
It has long been noticed that mushrooms are prone to "living" near high-voltage power lines. This is explained quite simply - the trees in the power transmission zone are regularly cut to avoid accidents and this creates favorable conditions for the development of fungi. When choosing directions for conducting your "quiet hunt" try not to forget that mycelium develops more actively in the lowlands, i.e. humid places. The swamps do not belong to this in any way. Air temperature is also an important factor in the formation of fruit bodies.
The relief is different in places: from hillocks to swamps. Some parts of the region were marked by mushroom pickers on the electronic tourist map of Tambov as the most productive. Forests occupy about 10% of the region's territory.
The Voroninsky Nature Reserve, created in 1994, is located on the territory of the Tambov Region. Its total area is 10,320 hectares or 0.3% of the territory of the Tambov region.
Tambov district
The Tambov region is rich in forests. There are many picturesque recreation areas and natural monuments in it.
the village of Novaya Lyada
Mushrooms in Tambov are best picked in Novaya Lyada. The village is located 10 km from the city on the Lesnaya Tambov River. There is a forest near it, where all kinds of edible mushrooms are found. They are harvested, starting with morels (in spring) and ending with mushrooms (late autumn). The peak of the season is in the second half of summer and early autumn.
Mixed tapa forest is a pine forest with an admixture of oak and other hardwoods.
Lysye Gory village
The village is located 18 km from Tambov on the Chelnova River. There are ravines not far from the settlement, small forests are located. Local and visiting mushroom pickers come to them to collect boletus. Boletus and other edible mushrooms are also often found there.
Tulinovsky forest (near the Gorelsky forestry enterprise)
The village, whose name is Tulinovka, is located near the regional center (28 km). In the forest nearby, first there are summer mushrooms: porcini, boletus and aspen mushrooms, then boletus appear in pine forests, and honey agarics in deciduous forests. Fans of "quiet hunting" are pleased with such autumn mushrooms as mushrooms, ryadovki, Polish.
Some types of mushrooms are found in the forest belt closest to Tambov, even with the onset of the first frost.
Irina Selyutina (Biologist):
The pale grebe is very skillfully disguised as mushrooms, ryadovki and russula. Mushroom pickers must be alerted to the following features of the mushroom:
- Whitish ring on the stem in its upper part, almost under the cap.
- Well-defined and distinctly potato tuber-like (albeit small) extension of the base of the stem.
- 3-4 bladed Volvo - "pouch" into which the leg is inserted with its extended base (the visual effect is created due to the fact that the leg does not grow to the Volvo).
- The color of the outer part of the Volvo can be 3 options: greenish, whitish or yellowish.
In any case, if you leaned over to the mushroom and saw that there is a "pouch" around the base of the leg - go on looking for other mushrooms, because it will only be a poisonous mushroom. In representatives of edible species, such a formation around the base of the stem is absent.
The first symptoms of poisoning may not appear immediately, but 10-12 hours after eating. Provided that the victims seek qualified medical help immediately, the recovery of the body may take 1.5 months.
Inexperienced mushroom pickers should carefully study the description of pale toadstools, honey agarics, russula.
Rasskazovsky district
The description of this area concerns not only mushroom fields. Deciduous forests grow near the rivers, the names of which are Lyada, Lesnoy Tambov. Maple and oak are easy to find there. There are separate oak forests (the village of Mekhovaya Fabrika), aspen forests, and birch groves. "Mushroom" tourists come here in pursuit of boletus, boletus, milk mushrooms.
Mushroom picking can be perfectly combined with relaxing on picturesque rivers and lakes (their names are Kersha, Picher). Morels appear in May - the first edible mushrooms.
Sosnovsky district
In the north and northwest there are forests of amazing beauty. They occupy about 50 thousand hectares. The center of the district is the village of Sosnovka. The forest surrounding it is dominated by pines and spruces, but there are deciduous trees. Here, according to the mushroom map, an abundance of porcini mushrooms, saffron milk caps, chanterelles, honey agarics, boletus is noted. There are also rare species listed in the Red Book, for example, the satanic mushroom.
Honey mushrooms grow in the felling of trees. They feed on organic matter accumulated in the stumps. It is important for mushroom pickers to distinguish between false mushrooms (by the yellow-green plates under the cap): they are poisonous.
It is not worth taking questionable mushrooms in a basket: it is easy to confuse poisonous species with real ones.
Many mushroom places are located in other areas of the Tambov region: Michurinsky, Bondarsky. A good harvest of mushrooms is harvested in the following villages:
- Znamenka, Knyazhevo, Chernitovo, Alkuzhi, Novotomnikovo, Kulevatovo - on the Tsna river (pine forests).
- Chutanovka, Velmozhka, Verkhnee Chuevo, Karaul, Krasivka - on the Vorona River (oak groves).
Most of the forest plantations are located in the basin of the Voronezh River and its tributary Ilovaj.
Conclusion
Not every year is harvested for mushrooms. If there is a drought or, conversely, too much rain, going to the forest will disappoint you. When going to the forest, you need to focus on the weather conditions in the mushroom regions, and only then go along the fruitful routes.
